MyCQU - Student Leadership Program

Student Leadership Program

The CQUni Student Leadership Program gives you the opportunity to develop and grow your leadership skills.

Designed to complement your academic studies, the program will ensure you are career ready, and have the skills and capabilities to graduate as a self-aware, high performing employee. Any enrolled student at CQUniversity can participate in the program, from any course, study mode or location.

How does it work?

The program is hosted on Moodle. Simply work through the modules and tick them off as you go.

Upon completion of all modules in the program, you can submit reflective journals as assessments and apply to 'graduate', whereby you would be awarded a certificate recognising participation in the program. There are two certificates that can be completed as part of the leadership program.

  1. Certificate of Leadership - theory and reflection components.
  2. Certificate of Engaged Leadership - theory, reflection, and volunteer work to demonstrate leadership skills.

In 2020, completing one of the leadership certificates is also a requirement for participating in the annual Student Leadership Conference.

Regardless of how you prefer to learn, this program will enable you to dip-in to engaging and exciting content when you need it. Recognised certification is optional, meaning there’s no pressure to complete the full program, but we know you’ll want to know more about the qualification on offer.

“I loved both the layout and the content of this course. I liked how both the videos and the writing catered for more than one learning style - what a thoughtful idea! The TED talks were fantastic, as were the other videos which really emphasised the course content. Well Done! I would recommend this course to anyone interested in building upon their leadership skills.”
