MyCQU - Student Representative Council (SRC)

Student Representative Council (SRC)

The Student Representative Council (SRC) is a collective group of students, elected by their peers, and appointed to engage with and advocate for the CQUniversity student community. Our members are organised, enthusiastic, dedicated and committed to their roles and responsibilities and are available to you to offer advice and support throughout your studies.

Members are elected to represent all course-levels and all locations across Australia. The SRC aims to unite the student body with fairness, respect and constructive progress, and directly contribute to enhancing the student experience.

Visit us in Building 36, Rockhampton North campus - underneath the Birdcage Bar. We're available from 8.30am - 4.30pm.

Pathway to success

In August, thanks to our Engineering Undergraduate Society President, Dylan Gannan, the SRC recommended that a footpath from the Bruce Highway main entrance (CQUniversity Rockhampton, North campus) to the Commercial centre be built to help overcome the rough terrain.

After SRC Coordinator liaison with Mr Ron Tollasepp, the Director, Facilities Management, support and funding allocation was approved for the works of this project which commences almost immediately! This is an absolutely fantastic example of where our SRC has listened to the needs of our fellow students and the University has clearly demonstrated its ‘can do’ approach by being receptive and reactive to our suggestions.

This pathway benefits not only our students, but our staff and community members transiting through the Campus. If you have further suggestions for us, please let us know, we are only too eager to help

National Student Leadership Forum

The SRC proudly funded SRC members Ms Tenille Da Rin Perette and Mr Shivam Sagar to attend this year’s National Student Leadership Forum, held in Canberra over four days. The forum brought together the leaders of tomorrow, broadly exploring the concept of servant leadership and encouraging open discussion on personal beliefs and values. Notable guest speakers included the Prime Minister and the Governor-General, a highlight of the forum. To read more about our student delegate experiences, click here and see page 15.
