The 7th University Mental Health Day will be held across Australia and New Zealand on Tuesday, 5 May 2020. The theme for this year is ‘Together We Can’.

Evidence suggests one in five adults will suffer a mental health disorder in any 12 months (ABS 2008). Moving away from home for the first time, academic pressures and sleeping problems make university students particularly vulnerable.

University Mental Health Day aims to raise awareness of the mental health and wellbeing needs of university students and staff.

With the evolving COVID-19 situation, we have never felt so disconnected from one another. This year’s University Mental Health Day is all about the coming together virtually and staying connected. We are promoting strong mental health, conversations and support.

#AskUs Sessions

Drop in on our #AskUs sessions to have your mental health questions answered and check in with the Counselling Team.  Sessions will be hosted on the following dates and times. Click on the date to join the session via Zoom.

#AskUs Self-Care Package Competition

From 14 April to 5 May, we will be giving you the chance to win one of six self-care packages. These packages include:

  • Sleep mask
  • A puzzle
  • Mindfulness colouring
  • Journals
  • Pens
  • Candles scented
  • A selection of teas, healthy chocolates and healthy energy foods.

Uni Mental Health Day - 5 May

On Tuesday, 5 May, from 10.30 am to 11.30 am, join us in a live webinar. We will be launching Mind Waves - CQUni’s mental health strategy that promotes student and staff mental health and wellbeing. Our team will also be answering your #AskUs questions, drawing the Self-Care package winners and hosting a live check-in.
